the six steps

Nothing here is automated and nothing is left for you to chase. Each step below ends with something in writing, so at every point you know what has been agreed and what it costs.

One. You write. Pieces, room or terrace, a plan or a photograph if you have one.
Two. We answer within one business day with the covers and finishes open on those pieces.
Three. A drawing comes back with the layout against your wall or your paving, and a written quote against that drawing.
Four. The workshop builds. The lead time is on the quote, confirmed by Cabiate, and it is not guessed at here.
Five. Freight, customs and insurance are arranged by us and priced on the same quote.
Six. A crew unpacks, assembles and sets the pieces where the drawing put them, and takes the crates away.

what a quote holds

A price on this catalogue is a specification before it is a number. The same sofa in two covers is two quotes, and the same table in two stones is two more.

So the paper you get back names every one of these, and the number sits under them. Nothing is added later that is not on it.

why the drawing comes before the number

The layers in this section are each a grade, and each grade is a different number. A rope seat can be braided in one colour or two, over a structure painted to match or to contrast, on iroko feet or on metal ones.

That is the work the quote does. It is also why the form asks where the piece will stand: a terrace by salt water and a courtyard in Chicago call for different answers, and both are cheaper to settle before the order than after it.
